Down Payment Assistance for New or Existing Homes

The Program
The Down Payment Assistance Program provides funds for down payment and closing costs toward new construction or purchase of an existing home. Assistance is for home purchases in Volusia County. Residents of incorporated areas of Daytona Beach and Deltona need to contact their municipalities for similar assistance.

Eligible families can receive up to the following maximum awards for down payment assistance and closing costs for each specific area:

Applicants are required to contribute toward their down payment. Minimum contributions are:

Maximum Purchase Price 
The maximum purchase price for new construction (including lot) or an existing home is:

Who is Eligible?
Applicants are eligible for assistance if they have not owned a home within the past three years or foreclosed on a home in the past seven years and whose total gross household income does not exceed limits for family size based on the chart below:

Contact Maggie hall (386.717.9991), an approved housing partner. An agent will assist you in locating a lender that works with the downpayment assistance program. 

Take an approved Volusia County home ownership class.

Maggie Hall  will help you find a home and the lender will submit the appropriate forms to Volusia County.

Once you are approved, the county will send you a letter of commitment. After that the lender will set a closing date with the title company, you, and Maggie Hall
