SUMMER 2006 Susan Pennington 344 N Oak, Orange City
This gracious four-square Arts & Crafts Bungalow was constructed in 1918, just as real estate in Florida was beginning to boom. Purchased by Ruby Pennington in 2004, this now magnificent structure was anything but attractive when she turned the project over to her daughter, Suzanne, and said, "Child, please get started!" It took Susan and her husband a good two years, living in the structure while working on it, to bring it back to its former glory. From gutting the four story building to refinishing hardwood floors, adding new bathrooms, and more, the home is now vibrant, elegant, yet cozy. Located on a quiet street in the heart of the historic district, the Pennington home stands today as testiment that if people care enough, they can accomplish anything. Ruby's child obeyed her mother's request quite well. Thank you Penningtons for a job well done! |
